The ordination and installation Mass, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, is being held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Westerville. It will be livestreamed on columbuscatholic.org, the diocese’s YouTube page and also shown on EWTN, Catholic TV Network and Spectrum News.
A Vespers, or evening prayer, service will be hosted the evening before at 7 p.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Upper Arlington. It will be shown on the diocese’s YouTube channel, called Columbus Catholic, and the diocese website, columbuscatholic.org.
Fernandes, who was born and raised in Toledo, was named by the Pope as the next Columbus bishop in April. He is succeeding Bishop Robert Brennan, who served as the diocese of Columbus’ 12th bishop from March 2019 until he was reassigned by the Pope to the Diocese of Brooklyn in September.
