Deacon Stephen Ondrey will be serving the Immaculate Conception Parish this summer as our deacon-in-residence.
Before joining Immaculate Conception, he worked as a genetic researcher at The Ohio State University for several years before moving on to a career in dentistry. He has been practicing general dentistry for the past ten years. He grew up a cradle Catholic in a military household in Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, he has an identical twin and is the last of six children.
Deacon Ondrey attributes his conversion back to the Church and vocational discernment to Our Blessed Mother, Mary, after his first pilgrimage to Medjugorje (an unofficial Catholic pilgrimage site in Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 2011. It was in Medjugorje that he renewed a great love for Jesus in the Eucharist, and returned to daily Mass and the sacraments, especially the sacrament of reconciliation after 23 years. He continues to hold a strong devotion to Our Lady.
Please welcome Deacon Ondrey to our parish and keep him in your prayers!
